Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a rehabilitation healthcare profession, alongside others like physiotherapy and speech therapy. The name of our profession can be confusing because “occupation-al” implies we only have something to do with work or vocation! Actually, the reference is to all the meaningful activities which occupy the daily lives of human beings and which give us the sense of meaning and purpose we need to thrive. So, OT’s work with people of all ages with various health challenges to help them live better and do the daily activities they want and need to do – from self-care to work/study, socializing and leisure.
As an OT, I am interested in every aspect of your health and life and can train and support you in using all the evidence-backed, non-medication strategies that can become your daily habits for managing pain long-term.
pain management programmes
Whether you are an employer wanting to transform workplace pain into performance, a fellow healthcare practitioner wanting to refer a patient for learning pain self-management or YOU need support for managing your own chronic pain – we can help!
Physiotherapist, Juli-Ann Riley, and I have teamed up to deliver in-person and online programmes, events and resources to suit individual and corporate pain management needs. You can view detailed descriptions of our pain solutions here.
Our flagship programme for people living with chronic pain is our R&R pain self-management group programme.
We usually co-facilitate this transformative, 6-week, small group course in a serene, natural setting in the Upper Highway area at regular intervals throughout the year.
